Club Annual General Meeting New Committee Appointed
The AGM was attended by 29 coaches and parents on Wednesday evening. Colin George (Chair) reported on a successful year both in terms of the fundraising efforts which saw the club beat its target and secure over £25,000 and in the expansion of the children and adults involved with the club. We have around 300 children playing in 13 squads from 5s to u19s. We now have 50 coaches and 10 other adult volunteers.
As part of the AGM the club officials were appointed. The New Committee can be found here. For the first time we have a Football Development Officer with Steven MacLean (coach 11s) taking on that role. In addition we have appointed Alan Frain (coach u17s) as our new Positive Coaching champion. Discussion with Steven and Alan will commence soon to determine how best to deploy their talents.
Attendees also heard about plans regarding the 3G pitch and how that might impact on the club and detailed plans for fundraising for 2013-14 to be led by Max Sykes.
Parent Fundraising Support Team
We have established a new support team made up of parents who want to help the club raise money but are happy to leave the football side alone. Under the guidance of Max Sykes the new group has already helped raise significant funds towards the purchase of the new training gear and strips. if you want to help and get involved then either contact us here or Max (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Bag Packing at Tesco
Concluding a fantastic first year of fundraising our young players and parents went the extra mile this weekend to ensure we reached our goals with the support of Pauline Young – Community Support Officer for Tesco’s Peebles on Saturday 23rd November .
Thanks to the generous shoppers of Tesco’s we raised a fantastic £521.89 on the day bringing our fundraising total to over £3,300 for 2013 from the Parents Fundraising Support Team .
Our campaign now continues into its second stage looking to raise funds for a new club house which would be fantastic , here’s to 2014 !
May we take this opportunity to thank the Peebles Fundraising Support Group, players and adults who have contributed time, enthusiasm and commitment to raising funds and a special thank you to the generous people of Peebles for all their support.
We would like to thank Pauline Young of Tesco’s Peebles for supporting our event and showing our young players warm hospitality on the day.

New Photos on Web
Following a successful photoshoot a couple of weeks ago the new squad photos are on the web. Almost every member of Peebles FC was present for the photographic session. All members were wearing their new Joma training gear and football kit.
Also present were Mr and Mrs Lucas who had provided £6,000 towards the cost of the new kit. Every strip, which is worn from the primary 3s to the u19s has a shoulder flash commemorating Alec Lucas Memorial Fund.
